The Temple of Communal Harmony at the campus of Siddhartha Central School, Pallimon, constructed with the initiative of the PTA was inaugurated by the Retd. Justice P Sathasivam , The Hon’ble Governor of Kerala. The school was graced by his presence . The temple of communal harmony and the statue of the prince ‘siddhartha’ , which measures 13 inches in height , are the first of its kind which gives us a clear cut message of “Unity in Diversity”.
The Hon’ble Governor also pointed out that all students must be aware about the Preamble of Indian Constitution , as it gives importance to the rights and the duties of the Indian citizens . He suggested to translate the same into the mother tongue and should be circulated among the students on the school re-opening day itself. He also opined that if the new generation is aware about the fundamental duties, there will not be any disparity among the people of different religions and there by creates a feeling that “We all are Indians”.
The welcome speech was delivered by Sri. U Suresh , Secretary , Siddhartha Foundations, Kollam, Felicitations by Sri. S Nazarudeen, President , Nedumpana Grama Panchayat and Smt. Prasanna Ramachandran, Member, Nedumpana Grama Panchayat. Smt.Beena K Thambi , Dean Academics, Siddhartha Schools addressed the audiance. The Presidential address was given by the PTA President B Sajeev, Siddhartha Central School, Pallimon.
The sculptor Sri. Sarath Mulankadakom , Gopika Sailendran, Former student and Kerala University BA Rank Holder (English), School Toppers & Sri. S M Venkitta Narayana Reddiyar received mementos as an honour from the Hon’ble Governor. Vote of Thanks was rendered by the Principal , Smt. Sree Rekha Prasad, of the school.
